Coping With Debt Problems

debt problems

The last decade and a half has seen a huge boom in the availability of credit, and the indebtedness of the average Briton has risen to record levels. Surging property prices have meant record mortgage debts, while competition in the credit card market has meant that many people now carry several cards each with balances on them.

In the good times, this debt was in most cases supportable, even if it was a constant drain on the budgets of borrowers. Unfortunately, we are now living through times which are far from good, and the debt chickens are coming home to roost.

Debt Crisis

Increasing numbers of people now find that their debts are becoming a serious problem, threatening their homes and their whole financial future.

Is there any way out of the situation? While in the long term there's no substitute to paying off the debt, in the short term this isn't usually an option, and so it becomes a matter of keeping your head above water while waiting for wider circumstances to get better. Here at My Debt Problems we offer information for the general reader on how to cope with various types of debt.
